Veselka And Nom Wah Will Open Outposts At A New LES Food Hall

Manhattan staples Veselka and Nom Wah will open locations at the new Market Line food hall on the Lower East Side.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” East side staples Veselka and Nom Wah are among the vendors that will be coming to the Lower East Side's newest food hall this year.

The Market Line announced its first nine vendors this week, and included among them NYC staples like the Ukrainian diner Veselka of East Village fame the Chinatown dumpling shop Nom Wah. The Market Line will be the new iteration of the longtime Essex Street Market, which is moving its vendors into the new space as part of the massive Essex Street Crossing development that's currently being built on the Lower East Side.

When complete, the Market Line will stretch across three city blocks with grocers, shops and restaurants.

"Opening a second location in the heart of the Lower East Side is exciting for us for several reasons," Veselka owners Tom and Jason Birchard said in a statement. "We are looking forward to being in the 'epicenter' of immigrant culture and history. We are also looking forward to being in a space with other long-standing New York culinary institutions. Also, we are looking forward to being part of the next incarnation of ever-changing Lower East Side culture and development."

Here's the initial list of new vendors:
