16-Year-Old In Truck Hit By Drunken Driver: Police
Police said there was extensive damage to both vehicles.
RED HOOK, NY — A 16-year-old driving a truck managed to escape injury when he was hit by a car being driven by someone police said was intoxicated.
The Red Hook Police Department said there was a two-car accident around 8:15 p.m. Friday on West Kerley Corners Road near the intersection of Guski Road in the town of Red Hook.
Police said the preliminary investigation found that a 2010 Ford was going west on West Kerley Corners Road, driven by Efrain Perez-Diaz, 27, of Valatie.

Perez-Diaz failed to keep right, crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a 2004 Chevrolet truck being driving by a 16-year-old Clinton Corners boy, police said.
According to authorities, there was extensive damage to both vehicles from the impact of the crash.

The 16-year-old was wearing his seatbelt at the time and was not injured. He refused medical attention.
Perez-Diaz suffered a minor laceration to his arm, but refused medical treatment at the scene as well.
After interviewing him, police said he was intoxicated and had been drinking alcohol in his car.
Perez-Diaz was charged with two counts of drunken driving, misdemeanors, as well as consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle and numerous other infractions.
He was processed and released with tickets to appear in the Town of Red Hook Court.
Red Hook police were assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the Tivoli Fire Department.
