2 Accused Of Heroin Possession On Thruway

State police said one of the men also had a fake Pennsylvania driver's license.

PLATTEKILL, NY — Two men were accused of having heroin after being stopped on the Thruway for a vehicle and traffic violation.

The New York State Police said, around 4 a.m. Saturday, troopers stopped a car on Interstate 87 in the town of Plattekill.

While talking to the driver, police found probable cause to search the car and its occupants.

Aury German, 30, of the Bronx, was the driver. His passenger was Jason H. Ajax, 27, of Fort Washington, Maryland.

They were found to be in possession of about 11.7 ounces of heroin, police said.

The pair was taken to the Newburgh barracks where they were both charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies.

Additionally, German was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, for having a fake Pennsylvania driver's license, police said.

The men were arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.
