2 Drownings In Hudson Valley
The drownings occurred on Saturday and Sunday in the Delaware River.
SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Two people drowned over the weekend in two separate incidents in the Delaware River in Sullivan County.
The New York State Police said, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, troopers were called to Route 97 in the town of Highland for a possible drowning on the Delaware River.
The initial investigation found that Louis Pellot, 31, of Brooklyn, got into the water from a campsite and became fatigued.

Police said he was seen struggling in the water, and he went under and was not seen.
Pellot's body was recovered by members of the Matamoras Fire Department.

Then, shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, troopers responded to the National Parks Service Station in the town of Lumberland for a report of a missing swimmer on the Delaware River.
Michael Cammett, 24, of North Arlington, New Jersey, was rafting with friends in an inflatable raft.
He and his friends got into the river around 3 p.m. in two rafts that were tethered together, police said.
Cammett jumped into the river and did not resurface, according to the authorities.
A search began involving the Lumberland Constables, fire departments from Matamoras, Narrowsburg, Lumberland and Highland, the United States Park Rangers and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team.
Police said the underwater recovery team located Cammett's body.
Authorities said the circumstances for both drownings are still under investigation.
