4-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Truck In Kiryas Joel

KIRYAS JOEL, NY — A child was killed Monday in Kiryas Joel after being hit by a delivery truck.

The New York State Police said the incident happened around 3:50 p.m. on DA Weider Boulevard in the village.

Police said the initial investigation found that a delivery truck going south on DA Weider Boulevard made a left turn into a driveway entrance of an apartment complex.

That was when the vehicle struck the 4-year-old boy, police said. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said they interviewed the driver and found no signs of impairment, and there are no charges at this time.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
