6,000+ Central Hudson Customers Without Electricity Tuesday

Strong winds and heavy gusts continue to tear through the region.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Strong winds with heavy gusts have caused power outages in the mid-Hudson Valley.

The hardest hit among the communities Central Hudson serves are in Ulster County.

As of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, there were more than 6,100 customers without electricity in Ulster, according to the power company's website.

The town of Olive has more than 1,100 customers with no power. The company estimates restoration to be 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The towns of Rochester and Woodstock both have more than 1,000 outages. The restoration for Woodstock is estimated to be 8 p.m.; Rochester is 9:30 p.m.

Marbletown has more than 900 outages and Hurley has more than 530.

There are about 930 outages in Dutchess County, with East Fishkill at 233 and Washington with 216 the hardest hit. Both have estimated restoration times for Tuesday evening.

A wind advisory is still in effect for the mid-Hudson Valley until 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
