National Bullying Prevention Month kicks off this October across the nation. Have you experienced bullying in the mid-Hudson Valley?
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — National Bullying Prevention Month kicks off this October across the nation. According to the National Bullying Prevention Center, every day, thousands of young people experience bullying from their peers while at school, after school in their neighborhoods, and even when they are at home, through social media and texts.
“There are many ways to support bullying prevention as an individual or with friends and family, and within your school or community,” the center states on its website. (Learn some here.)

The SUFSD Board of Education is committed to providing a safe and productive learning environment within its schools. In accordance with New York State’s Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) the Board is committed to promptly addressing incidents of harassment and/or discrimination of students that impede students’ ability to learn. This includes bullying, taunting, or intimidation in all their myriad forms as outlined in the district’s policies, which can be found on the BoardDocs link off the district website.
