Car Carrying Lt. Gov. Hochul Rear-Ends Vehicle In Hyde Park

The lieutenant governor had been at an event in the town of Wappinger.

HYDE PARK, NY — A vehicle carrying Lieutenant Gov. Kathy Hochul was involved in an accident in Hyde Park Thursday.

Hochul's Chevy Suburban, being driven by a state trooper, rear-ended another car that was trying to turn from Crum Elbow Road onto Cardinal Road, MidHudson News reported.

No one in Hochul's vehicle was injured, but Jacob Rosado, 25, of Poughkeepsie, the driver of the second car, complained of neck and back pain, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

He was treated and released from Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Hochul had been attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday for Dutchess Community College's Aviation Education Center at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport in the town of Wappinger.
