Car-Related Thefts Reported In Eastern Dutchess
The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said the incidents happened during the late-night and early morning hours.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating several larcenies from vehicles and thefts of vehicles that occurred in the eastern part of Dutchess County, primarily Dover.
The sheriff's office said the incidents happened during the late-night/early-morning hours.
In each case, the vehicles were targeted that were unlocked with the key fobs inside or accessible, authorities said.

The thefts are thought to be part of a large organized out-of-state crime ring, and the perpetrators should be considered armed and dangerous.
The sheriff's office warns residents to always lock their vehicles, never leave valuables or the keys or fob inside, never leave the vehicle running unattended, and never confront someone breaking into your car yourself, because they should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you see a suspicious person or someone attempting to commit one of these thefts, call 911 immediately and let law enforcement handle the matter.
Sheriff's deputies said, at this time, there are no suspect descriptions, but more information may be released when available.
