Confirmed: April the Giraffe Is Definitely Expecting

Back to the webcam we go.

HARPURSVILLE, NY — April the Giraffe is definitely expecting. And the whole world can again watch the pregnancy progress.

Animal Adventure Park's owner, Jordan Patch, made the definitive pronouncement Wednesday, a month after he posted his suspicions on Facebook.

"We know the last day that April and Oliver connected," he said in the announcement video."And we expect that's when they also conceived. So in our heads we do have a timeline of when we could perhaps expect a calf. That window — to be safe right now we're sharing with you guys that we're expecting in early spring. We'll say a March baby."

April gained national fame last year when seemingly the whole world paused to watch her give birth at the New York park. For one thing, April was seemingly forever pregnant. Giraffes have the longest gestation period of any animal on Earth — usually around 14 to 15 months.

By the time her calf was born she was an internet sensation. She finally went into labor on live cam on the eve of Easter Sunday. More than 1 million people watched live as the baby's feet emerged from April's behind.

The calf, named Tajiri, now stands 10 feet tall.

You can watch a live stream of April on the park's official "Giraffe Cam."
