Dutchess BOCES Staffer Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Dies

The high school where the person worked had been doing hybrid learning since the semester started.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Dutchess County BOCES Alternative High School staff member in Poughkeepsie died last weekend after testing positive for the new coronavirus earlier in October.

District Superintendent Richard Hooley said the person had been in contact with students and other staff prior to the Oct 6 diagnosis, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

The high school had been doing hybrid learning since the semester began.

Twenty people were notified that they may have been exposed to the virus, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
