Dutchess County Stabbing Leads To Barricade Incident: Police

State police were initially called to the location for a domestic dispute.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A Dutchess County man was accused of stabbing another person and then barricading himself.

The New York State Police said Shaun Doxsey, 27, of Pleasant Valley, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

Police said, shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, troopers responded to a domestic dispute on Wilbur Road in the town of Pleasant Valley.

The victim suffered multiple knife wounds and was being treated outside the home by the Pleasant Valley Fire and Emergency Medical Services departments.

Doxsey barricaded himself in the home, police said, and refused to come out.

State police negotiators made contact and were able to get him out of the residence without further incident.

Doxsey was arrested and then arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court.

He was released on his own recognizance to reappear before the court May 20.
