Dutchess Man Breaks Into Home, Starts Fight: NYSP
Police said there was an order of protection in place for the victim.
PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A Dutchess County man faces three felony charges after he was accused of breaking into someone's home and starting a fight.
The New York State Police said Russell J. Hines, 45, of Pleasant Valley, was charged Tuesday with second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery and first-degree criminal contempt, felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief (prevention of an emergency call) and reckless endangerment, misdemeanors.
Police said Hines illegally entered the home of the victim March 10 and started a fight, even though there was an active order of protection in place on behalf of the victim.

During the incident, police said he destroyed property in the home and assaulted the victim.
Hines also stole the victim's cell phone with which the person was trying to call 911 for help, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, $75,000 secure bond or $200,000 partially secure bond.
Hines is next scheduled to appear in court April 30.
