Emerson Resort & Spa Completes $6M Renovation

Hotel, spa, and restaurant in Mt. Tremper renovated in time for summer season

The Emerson Resort & Spa has announced the completion of a $6 million renovation. The resort, located in Mt. Tremper in Ulster County, has renovated its guest rooms and public areas and has opened a new restaurant, Woodnotes Grill.

“We’re thrilled with the renovation and wanted to change the overall theme of the property to more closely reflect the name of Emerson, and to prominently feature the beautiful mountains and river at our backdoor,” says owner Emily H. Fisher. The resort is named in honor of the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson, whose writing helped inspire the creation of the Catskill Forest Preserve.

The Emerson is pet-friendly and has a dedicated dog park, as well as having the world’s largest kaleidoscope. The spa is full service and features customized integrative treatments, including the use of stones and high-grade essential oils. In addition, works by Hudson Valley artists are on display.
