Emu, Donkey Living Hudson Valley Life With 'Walking Dead' Star
"Walking Dead" star Jeffrey Dean Morgan says the unusual bonded pair is settling in.
RHINEBECK, NY — An emu and a donkey that become frantic when anyone tries to separate them are adjusting to their new life in the Hudson Valley ― together. They've even gotten a little heat help since winter temperatures have come early.
Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan adopted them both.
Morgan, who plays a consummate villain, Negan, on the "The Walking Dead," heard about the trouble a North Carolina animal rescue group was having trying to find a new home for Jack and Diane.

The uniquely bonded pair had been abandoned in South Carolina. Thousands of people had responded to Carolina Waterfowl Rescue's plea for a good home that would keep the two together.
The rescue group visited Morgan's farm in Rhinebeck and particularly liked the space Jack and Diane would have to roam and the ongoing care they would receive.

The move was made at night: Apparently emus travel better in the dark. And despite being provided with plenty of room in the trailer, so Jack wouldn't step on Diane, the two huddled together most of the way, the rescue group said on Facebook.
Since the two arrived in New York, Morgan has been posting about it on Instagram.

Really dependent on each other... special little thing they have going. Slowly but surely they letting me in. Xojd
