More Schools Change Schedules Tuesday: UPDATE

A storm Tuesday that includes snow, rain and frigid temperatures has caused many school districts to change their schedules. A winter weather advisory is in effect until Wednesday at 4 a.m. for Dutchess and eastern Ulster and 6 a.m. for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties.

Along with periods of rain, the National Weather Service predicts snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches, with locally up to 6 inches in far western Orange County. Snowfall rates of one-half to one inch per hour are possible at times this afternoon and evening. Slippery road conditions could affect the evening commute.
