Former Corrections Officer Guilty Of Killing Ex-Wife

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A former corrections officer who was accused of killing his ex-wife in 2018 was found guilty Thursday.

A jury in Dutchess County Court found Timothy Alexander, a former Dutchess County corrections sergeant, guilty of second-degree murder, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

Terrie DeGelormo, 34, was stabbed to death at a home in the vicinity of All Angels Hill Road in Wappinger Nov. 15, 2018.

Authorities said Alexander fled the scene before police arrived. He was arrested following an investigation.

DeGelormo and Alexander were married in 2008, but divorced in 2017.

DeGelormo was a Beacon High School 2002 graduate and received her bachelor's degree from SUNY New Paltz.

She worked at Dutchess Community College in accounts payable.

Alexander's sentencing is scheduled for June 8, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
