Here Are Things to Do for New Year’s in Putnam, Mid Hudson Valley
Six things to do to wrap up the year with some fun and frolic.

The old year 2016 is rapidly dwindling away and 2017 is set to start. If you want to see the old year out with a bang and welcome the new, here are some places to do that:
A Mid-Day New Year’s: The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum will hold its biggest party of the year from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The party will include pop music, dancing, and super cool activities! Every hour there will be a special surprise as everyone counts down to noon. The museum is at 75 North Water Street in Poughkeepsie. Tickets are $10 for members and $14 for non-members. For more information, click here.
Gala at the Golf Course: The Putnam County Golf Course will have a Gala to usher in 2017 on Saturday night. There will be an open bar, cocktail hour, sit-down dinner, champagne toast, Viennese hour, and a live broadcast from Times Square. Gala at Villa Barone: Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac will hold a New Year’s Eve Gala starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The evening includes an open bar, cocktail hour, a four-course dinner, champagne and party favors. Tickets are $150 per person. To make reservations, call 845-628-6600.
New Year’s Eve in Saugerties: There will be celebrations in the Village of Saugerties on Saturday. The evening will include performances on the stage on Main Street from 10:30 p.m., with refreshments and hot chocolate passed out by Boy Scouts. At midnight, there will be a countdown and a ball drop o Main and Partition Streets. Many restaurants and bars are offering specials.

Celebrate in Uptown Kingston: Kingston will celebrate the new year in the uptown district with a ball drop at the corner of Wall and North Front streets at midnight.
Kids Celebrate at Winter Wonderland: The Winter Wonderland at Kensico Dam in Valhalla, Westchester will hold its first Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday. The event starts at 8 p.m. with an early ball drop, followed by fireworks. The New Year’s Eve celebration will include all of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland regular activities that begin at 5:00 p.m. that evening, including rides, ice skating, circus performances, strolling characters and more. This year’s Wonderland features Hanneford’s Holiday Circus and the Santa Experience. General admission tickets are $15.
