High Heat, Humidity Forecast For Mid-Hudson Valley

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It's going to be uncomfortably hot in parts of the mid-Hudson Valley Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for western Columbia, eastern Ulster and western Dutchess counties.
It is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The heat index is expected to be around 95 degrees.
The weather service said hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

Additional heat advisories are likely in the beginning to middle of the upcoming week as well, according to meteorologists.
It is recommended that, if you work or spend time outside, you should take extra precautions.
When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
