Hit-And-Run Injures Man In Ulster County
The New York State Police have asked anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call them.
ACCORD, NY — The New York State Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Ulster County.
Troopers from the Ellenville barracks were sent to Whitfield Avenue in Accord for a report of a hit-and-run involving a car and a pedestrian that happened around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.
They found a man lying on the ground about 8 feet off the west shoulder of the roadway.

He was identified as Accord resident George Barley, 62. He was unconscious and breathing, police said.
Barley appeared to have injuries to his head and leg and was taken to Westchester Medical Center by helicopter.

Police said their initial investigation found Barley was walking with his wife when she saw a gray sedan speeding south on Whitfield Road.
The sedan struck Barley and continued traveling south, police said.
This investigation is ongoing and state police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the accident or who saw the vehicle before or after the accident to call the state police at Ellenville at 845-626-2800.
