Hyde Park Man Accused Of Unlawful Surveillance Again

The man was accused in 2020 of having child porn and illegally recording victims.

HYDE PARK, NY — A Hyde Park man accused of and arrested in 2020 for having child porn and illegally recording victims was accused Tuesday of new instances of unlawful surveillance.

The New York State Police said Richard G. Kelly, 50, of Hyde Park, was charged with 14 counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, felonies.

Police said, stemming from the 2020 arrest of Kelly, investigators found additional evidence of the man illegally filming 10 victims for sexual gratification at Marist College while he was employed by the college.

Kelly was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hyde Park Court March 31.

In July 2020, he was accused of having images consistent with child sexual exploitation and surreptitiously recording candid images of unsuspecting victims, police said.

At that time, Kelly was charged with possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child and second-degree unlawful surveillance, felonies.

A spokesperson for Marist College did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
