Impaired Woman Drives With 2 Kids In Car: Police

The Catskill resident refused to have her blood tested for drugs or alcohol, police said.

CATSKILL, NY — A Greene County woman was accused of impaired driving with two children in her car.

The New York State Police said troopers stopped a car around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 87 in the town of Coxsackie in Greene County for a traffic violation.

Police said Katie A. Warren, 31, of Catskill, was the driving and was found to be impaired by drugs while traveling with two 4-year-old children in the car.

Warren had a suspended license and an active arrest warrant out of the City of Schenectady Police Department, authorities said.

She was taken into custody and processed at the Albany barracks where he refused a submit to a chemical test to determine the alcohol or drug content of her blood.

Warren had a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, police said.

She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, Leandra's Law; driving while ability impaired by drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies.

Warren was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
