Injured Bald Eagle Rescued On Highway By State Trooper

A motorist called saying the bird was hurt on the side of the road.

BLOOMING GROVE, NY — An injured bald eagle was rescued on the side of a highway in the town of Blooming Grove.

The New York State Police said a motorist called the Middletown barracks to report the injured eagle on Route 17 in Blooming Grove.

A trooper was found the bird that was noticeably injured.

He used his jacket and a K-9 trooper's bite sleeve to get the eagle into a kennel provided by the Warwick Valley Animal Rescue.

The bald eagle was eventually taken to a rehab facility in New Paltz for further care.
