Judge Extends Ulster County Early Voting Hours

The judge did not agree to add an additional site.

KINGSTON, NY — A judge sided with the Ulster County Democratic Committee Friday to extend hours during which ballots can be cast for early voting.

The decision in the lawsuit filed in state Supreme Court said all five Ulster County early voting sites must be open longer hours on Saturday and Sunday, the Times Herald-Record reported.

Democrats had asked for an additional polling site, but that was not granted.

Saturday and Sunday are the last days for early voting before Election Day on Tuesday when the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A notice added to the Ulster County Board of Elections early voting website said, "Early Voting hours have been extended for Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. On Saturday polling hours are now 9 am-5 pm, on Sunday polling hours are 9 am-3:30 pm. Anyone who is in line at the polls of close is entitled to vote."
