Kartrite Resort, Indoor Waterpark To Reopen

The year-round family destination has been closed since the coronavirus pandemic shut everything down in March 2020.

THOMPSON, NY — Sullivan County's Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark is opening after being closed since March 2020 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the waterpark's Facebook page, the resort will be opening Thursday.

"Ready to SPLASH again?," the park's owners said. "The wait is OVER! We are thrilled to announce that the Kartrite will be welcoming guests beginning July 1! Slide into the perfect family getaway and book your room today!"

Kartrite's waterpark is covered completely by the world's largest texlon transparent roof, where it's 84 degrees all year long, according to the park's website.

There are more than almost a dozen rides and slides as well as an indoor beach.

The resort has more than 300 hotel suites, multiple innovative restaurants, a spa, a mega arcade and more.

Health and safety considerations will be in effect at the resort, including a reduction of capacity until it is safe and practical to welcome additional guests.

All guests and staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear protective facial coverings in public areas at all times, including the waterpark.

Food and beverages will be served at restaurants and eateries that previously operated as self-service.

There will be signs and guidance located throughout the resort for social distancing.
