Man Accused Of Driving 2 Times Legal Limit For Alcohol
Police said they initially stopped the man for a traffic violation.
CATSKILL, NY — An Orange County man was accused of driving while drunk on the Thruway.
The New York State Police said troopers stopped a car on Interstate 87 in the town of Catskill for a vehicle and traffic violation.
Authorities said the driver — Eduar S. Hernandez Mejia, 36, of Newburgh, was found to be intoxicated.

He was taken into custody and processed at the Kingston barracks where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18 percent.
Hernandez Mejia was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

He was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Catskill Court June 27.
