Michael Prisciandaro, Chef, CIA Grad, Dies At 24

Prisciandaro worked as a chef at the famed Le Bernardin in Manhattan.

HYDE PARK, NY — A 24-year-old Culinary Institute of America graduate died July 14. Michael Prisciandaro, of North Salem, worked as a chef at Le Bernardin in Manhattan, where he was promoted nine times.

Prisciandaro is survived by his mother Karolyn Prisciandaro, father Manny Prisciandaro, sister Elena and brother-in-law Luke, brothers Nicholas and Zachary and grandmothers Francis Hazim and Francesca Prisciandaro.

According to his obituary, he exuded “much love and pride in preparing gourmet meals, both professionally and personally. His favorite dish of octopus was always cooked to perfection.”

Visiting hours will be from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19 at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home, 288 East Main St. in Mount Kisco.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mount Kisco. Burial will follow immediately in the family plot at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.

Prisciandaro’s family requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made either or both of the following: Friends of Recovery and Drug Crisis in Our Backyard.
