Mohonk Mountain House Shuts Down Temporarily
Resort officials said there have been no cases of the new coronavirus among guests or staff.

NEW PALTZ, NY — Mohonk Mountain House, the iconic resort in Ulster County, is shutting down due to concern about the new coronavirus. In a letter to the community, executives of Mohonk said, although there have been no incidents of COVID-19 among their guests or staff, "out of an abundance of caution and due to the 'social distancing' recommendations from CDC and local and state health officials," it will be closing beginning at noon Tuesday.
Mohonk President Eric Gullickson and CEO Tom Smiley said they anticipate reopening for guest arrivals April 1.
