Moonlight Stroll and Astronomy on Walkway Over the Hudson

The moon and stars will be on view on Friday at the Walkway Over the Hudson

There will be a moonlit stroll over the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park on Friday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Students from Dutchess Community College’s Astronomy 132 class will provide an overview of astronomical events and topics such as the Big Bang Theory, cosmic microwave background, black holes, and more. Member of the Mid-Hudson Astronomy Association will be on hand with their telescopes.

Entrance for the walk will be from both the east (Poughkeepsie) and west (Highland) approaches of the Walkway State Historic Park. Admission is free for Walkway Over the Hudson Members and for Dutchess Community College Faculty and Staff. Non-Members are asked to contribute $5.00. The rain date for the event is Saturday, April 23.
