MTA Worker Arrested After Being Identified Inside U.S. Capitol

Authorities said the Beacon resident called in sick from his job at the Brewster rail yard to attend the event in Washington, D.C.

BEACON, NY — The Dutchess County man who works for Metro-North Railroad and was identified as one of the rioters at the Capitol Wednesday was taken into custody Tuesday.

Will Pepe, 31, of Beacon, was arrested and will appear in federal court in White Plains, WABC 7 reported.

Pepe, who works at the Brewster Metro-North rail yard, called out sick to attend the event.

The MTA had suspended him without pay after it found he was being investigated by the FBI for his involvement in the siege.

A spokesman for the agency said Pepe's conduct was abhorrent and against the values of the agency, New York and the nation.
