The Music of the Eiffel Tower on Tap at Newburgh Library

Musician collected the sounds of the Eiffel Tower and turned them into music

The Newburgh Public Library will present Musique de la Tour/Tower Music on Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Composer Joseph Bertolozzi harvested the Eiffel Tower's sounds using microphones placed on its surfaces and then composed a work entitled Musique de la Tour/Tower Music, using only the natural sounds of the Eiffel Tower. This multi-media lecture/demonstration outlines Bertolozzi's artistic methods as well as the enormous organizational, political, and practical challenges he faced. A question and answer period will follow and CDs will be available for purchase. For more information, call 845-563-3600. The library is at 124 Grand Street.
