Rhinebeck Nursing Center’s New Leader to Focus on Quality Care

From Health Quest: As the new administrator of the Thompson House skilled nursing center, Steven Reynolds’ top priority is to provide the best possible care for long-term residents and patients requiring short-term-stay rehabilitation.

“The Thompson House has a wonderful reputation and my goal is to see it flourish by providing the area’s top services,” Reynolds said. “I look forward to working with such an accomplished team.”

He brings a unique set of skills and experience to his role as the head of the 100-bed, nonprofit center on the campus of Northern Dutchess Hospital. The Thompson House and Northern Dutchess Hospital share an affiliation with Health Quest, a leading healthcare network in the Hudson Valley.

For more than a decade, Reynolds served as an administrator of nursing and short-term-stay rehabilitation facilities in central and western New York. While rotating through six facilities of various sizes in urban and rural settings, he strengthened rehab therapy programs and enhanced the quality of care.

“You have to keep things simple,” Reynolds said. “The cornerstone of any skilled nursing facility is the quality of care provided.”

The western New York native has a diverse background from nuclear power generation with General Electric to working with healthcare consulting firms in the Northeast. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geochemistry from the State University of New York at Oswego.
