New York Man Caught With Cocaine, Oxy: Police

BEEKMAN, NY — A New York man was arrested after being accused of having illegal drugs.

The New York State Police said, on Wednesday, Donavan L. Porter, 31, of New York was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, all felonies.

Police said, around 2 pm. Wednesday, troopers stopped a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation on Beekman Road in the town of Beekman.

About 23.1 grams of cocaine and 44.1 grams of oxycodone were found in Porter's possession, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and released on his own recognizance.

Porter is next scheduled to appear in the Town of Beekman Court May 5.
