NYC Man Drives Drunk With 6 Kids In Car, Faces Felony DWI: Police
A state police trooper initially pulled the man over for a traffic violation.
NEWBURGH, NY — A stop for a traffic violation turned into an accusation of drunken driving with children in the car for a Bronx man.
The New York State Police said Tysean Afflick, 34, of the Bronx, was pulled over around 12:40 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 87 in the town of Newburgh.
Police said Afflick was intoxicated and driving with six children in the car.

The children ranged in age from 4 to 13.
Afflick was taken into custody and processed at the Newburgh barracks where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.12 percent.

The children were turned over to a responsible party.
Afflick was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a felony, Leandra's Law.
He was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Newburgh Court May 17.
