Obituary: Joseph Martini, 44, Ulster County Corrections Officer

Ulster County Sheriff Juan J. Figueroa Jr. said Martini died of complications from COVID-19.

KINGSTON, NY — A 22-year veteran of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division died of complications from COVID-19.

Sheriff Juan J. Figueroa Jr. said Monday on Facebook that Joseph Martini, 44, of Kingston, died from the disease Saturday. It is being considered a line of duty death, the sheriff said.

A memorial service was held Friday, according to Martini's obituary.

He is survived by his children, Brandon and Arianna, along with their mother Tracy Dart, his fiancée Valerie Myers, his sister Deborah, as well as several aunts and cousins.
