Poughkeepsie Galleria, Galleria At Crystal Run Set To Reopen

The two area malls will be operating with significant changes to their safety and sanitizing procedures.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Put on your comfy shopping shoes — as well as your mask — and head to the Poughkeepsie Galleria and the Galleria at Crystal Run when they reopen the interior portions of their mall Friday. The recent announcement by Gov. Andrew Cuomo that mall interiors could open for business if the proper air filtration systems were installed was deemed "great news" by Pyramid Management Group, which owns and operates the Poughkeepsie Galleria and the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown.

"With proper precautions in place and health and safety a top priority, we look forward to restoring our centers to their dominant positions as the economic drivers of their respective regions," said Stephen J. Congel, CEO of Pyramid Management Group.

The Poughkeepsie Galleria will operate under modified hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Galleria at Crystal Run will open at 11 a.m. Friday, according to its Facebook page. A call to Pyramid about the hours it will be open was not immediately returned.

Both malls will be reopening with significant changes to their safety and sanitizing procedures.

Every visitor to the malls will be required to wear a face mask before entering, in accordance with state and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Social distancing will be maintained, and there will be visual reminders placed throughout the facilities, along with new one-way directional signage to avoid contact with other guests.

The malls will have enhance cleaning and sanitizing of common areas and numerous touch points, restrooms, seating areas and food courts. CDC-recommended disinfectants, designated as effective against SARS-CoV-2 virus will be used.

Hand sanitizers stations will be placed at digital directories, food court areas, elevators and escalators and throughout the common areas.

Mall employees, security personnel, housekeeping employees and all contractors will undergo daily health screenings.
