Rockefeller Christmas Tree From Hudson Valley
The tree weighs an estimated 12 tons and will be cut down Nov. 8

WALLKILL, NY — If you live in the Hudson Valley and go down to Rockefeller Center during the holidays, you will be visiting a neighbor. A Norway Spruce from Wallkill will be cut down Nov. 8.
It will then head down to Manhattan to take its place in Rockefeller Center, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
The tree, which is about 75 years old, is 72 feet tall and weighs an estimated 12 tons, today.com said.

Scheduled to arrive at the plaza Nov. 10, the tree will be lit Nov. 28 and will remain until after the first of the year.

After the spruce is taken down, it will be donated to Habitat for Humanity for the 12th year in a row, dailyfreeman.com.
