MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of the mid-Hudson Valley Thursday. The National Weather Service said the warning is in effect until 3:15 p.m. for northeastern Ulster County, Dutchess County, southwestern Columbia County and southwestern Greene County.

Around 2:30 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ancram to Red Hook to Phoenicia, moving southeast at 50 mph.

Meteorologists said 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail can be expected.

Affected locations include Poughkeepsie, Kingston, New Paltz, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Pleasant Valley, Hurley, Woodstock, Amenia, Livingston, Highland, Pine Plains, Clermont, Red Hook, Ancram, Millbrook, Millerton, Stanfordville and Tillson.
