
MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for West central Litchfield County in northern Connecticut and Central Dutchess County in east central New York until 7 p.m.
At 6:12 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Pleasant Valley, or near Poughkeepsie, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Locations impacted include...Kent, Wingdale, Dover Plains, Gaylordsville, Red Oaks Mill, Merwinsville, South Kent, Freedom Plains, Oniontown, South Dover ,Kent Furnace, Hoxie Corner, Skiff Mountain, Lower Merryall, Billings, Kent Green, Pleasant Ridge, Bains Corner, Clove and NorthKent.

Also, The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Ulster County in east central New York and Southern Dutchess County in east central New York until 7:15 p.m.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
