Sex Offender Accused Of Resisting Arrest
Authorities said there was an active warrant for the man's arrest for a sex offender registry violation.
ULSTER, NY — An Ulster man was accused of resisting arrest while authorities were trying to take him into custody.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office said Christopher Johnson, 29, of Ulster was charged Thursday with misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Deputies were conducting an investigation in the town of Ulster in an attempt to locate Johnson, who authorities said is a level 3 sex offender, and had an active warrant for his arrest for a sex offender registry violation.

Sheriff's deputies said when Johnson was located by authorities he physically resisted being taken into custody.
After being arrested, he was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

Johnson was ordered to reappear in court on a future date and time.
