Showers, Thunderstorms In Hudson Valley Thursday

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for parts of the region.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — More heat and humidity, as well as an approaching cold front, are in the forecast for Thursday. Any showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into early evening are expected to be isolated to scattered, the National Weather Service said.

Only Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties are under a hazardous weather outlook Thursday, with a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds or large hail during the afternoon into early evening.

For the rest of the region, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, except for southern Westchester, where it is forecast to be mostly sunny.

After midnight, for the lower Hudson Valley, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
