State Education Department Announces $14 Million in Library Construction Grants for Public Libraries Statewide
Mid-Hudson Library System and local libraries receive funds.

The State Education Department has awarded $14 million in grants to 173 public libraries statewide for construction projects.
The Mid-Hudson Library System in Poughkeepsie received a grant of $51,596 for upgrading restrooms and improving the lobby. Grants were also awared to the Highland Falls Library, the Moffat Library of Washingtonville, the Port Jervis Free Library, the Goshen Public Library and Historical Society, the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley, the Gardiner Library, and the Morton Memorial Library and Community House in Rhinecliff.
“Many public libraries statewide lack updated technology or facilities to fully serve children, parents and other community members," said Board of Regents Chancellor Betty A. Rosa. The grants we're announcing today will help fund the construction and renovation projects that will make that a reality."
