Today, Stop & Shop announced the unveiling of a new food pantry at the LaGrange Middle School in Lagrangeville, New York. Stop & Shop has donated $1,000 to create the pantry at the onset of COVID-19 to support students and families facing the challenges of food insecurity amid the pandemic. The grocer announces today that an additional $5,000 will be provided to support the pantry’s operation through 2021.

To commemorate the School Food Pantry’s opening Lois Bruggemann, Poughkeepsie Stop & Shop Store Manager, and Amy Brennan, Stop & Shop Front End Specialist, joined Susan Nerf and Staci Wagner from LaGrange Middle School for the official ribbon cutting to commemorate the opening of the school’s new food pantry.

“We are honored to be able to continue to support the Poughkeepsie and LaGrangeville communities,” said Lois Bruggemann, Store Manager of the Poughkeepsie Stop & Shop on Burnett Blvd. “As many are facing food insecurity as a result of the pandemic, it is our hope that the new food pantry will allow us to provide supplies and comfort during this holiday season and beyond.”
