Strong Thunderstorm Headed To Northern Ulster, Dutchess

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A strong thunderstorm will affect northeastern Ulster and northwestern Dutchess counties Wednesday.

At 4:20 p.m., a strong thunderstorm was located near Saugerties, moving south at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea-size hail are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include:

Kingston, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Saugerties South, Lake, Katrine, West Hurley, Veteran, Tivoli, Centerville, Mount Marion, Canoe Hill, Quarryville, Manorville, Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Katsbaan, Shultis Corners, Sweet Meadows, Flatbush and Linden Acres.

This includes Interstate 87 between exits 19 and 20.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
