Thousands In The HV Without Power After 2nd Night Of Storms
The region suffered several sets of severe thunderstorms, the last coming late Wednesday night.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — After a second day of severe thunderstorms, more than 6,000 Cen Hud customers were out of power at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, most of them in Dutchess and Ulster counties. Estimated restoration: 10 p.m.
NYSEG reported 24,501 customers without power in its coverage area, including 215 in Dutchess and Ulster.

"Frequent lightning would be an understatement, here at the station we have had a lightning strike every few seconds for 20 mins," Alex Marra and Bill Potter posted on the Hudson Valley Weather Facebook page at midnight.
More thunderstorms are expected Thursday.
