NEW WINDSOR, NY — Former President Donald J. Trump is now a resident of Florida, but his Boeing 757 branded with his last name is far away from him, parked in the elements at New York Stewart International Airport.

The Trump Organization moved the $100 million private jet from LaGuardia Airport in Queens to the Orange County facility in May 2019, the Times Herald-Record reported.

Earlier this year, the corporate jet was moved from a spot near Stewart's administration building to the other side of the airport, MidHudson News said.

At the time, it was reported that one engine had been removed and one was covered with plastic, and the Rolls Royce engines were being rebuilt, after which the plane would be put back into service.

The plane is still sitting idle at the airport, and the cost to get it ready to fly again could reach into the high six-figures, CNN reported.

Aviation experts who spoke with CNN said they were baffled by the decision to store the 757 outside in the often fierce, wet and cold northeast weather rather than in a dry climate that helps prevent corrosion.

CNN said the Trump Organization was contacted for a comment but did not immediately respond about the future of the plane.
