Ulster County Fair To Return In August
The coronavirus pandemic prevented the fair from taking place in 2020.

NEW PALTZ, NY — The Ulster County Fair will return to the Ulster County Fairgrounds this summer.
The fair will be open Tuesday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 8 in New Paltz.
County Executive Pat Ryan said that, after an incredibly difficult year, the public finally has a chance to celebrate and enjoy this summer.

"The Ulster County Fair is an event that is enjoyed by our entire community and I am looking forward to being able to have our fairgrounds once again be a hub of fun and recreation for all of our Ulster County families," he said in a news release.
The fairgrounds is at 249 Libertyville Rd. in New Paltz.

Following the state guidance for county fairs, the Ulster County Agricultural Society has submitted a COVID-19 Safety Plan to the state health department. The plan includes an online ticketing system to control capacity, contact tracing, no indoor entertainment and additional cleaning protocols.
Ryan also said the Ulster County Pool Complex, which is located next to the fairgrounds, will open starting the July 4 weekend and will remain open until Labor Day on Sept. 7
According to the county, the pool complex features an Olympic-size swimming pool and two large kiddie pools. Lifeguards are on duty at all times.
There is also a spacious lawn area for additional lounging and sunbathing and a newly added playground area for children age 8 and younger.
Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state COVID-19 guidelines, unvaccinated individuals are required to wear masks when not in the pool and maintain social distance when no in the pool.
