Ulster Man Accused Of Raping A Minor
Police said the man dropped the child off in New Jersey.

LAKE KATRINE, NY — An Ulster County man was accused of raping a child.
The New York State Police said James Jones Jr., 37, of Lake Katrine, was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree rape, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful dealing with a child, misdemeanors.
Authorities said the investigation found that on Friday Jones took a minor to a local hotel, gave the child alcohol and then raped the child several times.

The following morning, Jones took the child to Paramus, New Jersey, where the child was left, police said.
According to law enforcement, the victim was able to call a relative who went to pick the child up. The child told a friend what had happened and was convinced to call the state police.

The state police Middletown Bureau of Criminal Investigation found Jones in Port Ewen where he was arrested.
Jones was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wallkill Court April 28.
