Ulster Woman Fatally Stabs Another After Fight: Police
The state police said the incident happened in the town of Cairo in Greene County.
SAUGERTIES, NY — An Ulster County woman was accused of fatally stabbing another woman early Friday morning in Greene County.
The New York State Police said Amber C. Akins, 40, of Saugerties, was charged with second-degree murder, a felony.
Police said, shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, troopers responded to a reported stabbing on Lake Mills Road in the town of Cairo.

When they got there, they found Crystal L. Borne, 39, of Cairo, had been stabbed, and life-saving measures were attempted.
She died of her wounds, medical personnel said.

Police said the preliminary investigation found Akins stabbed Borne after a brief fight.
Akins was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and sent to the Greene County Jail without bail.
The Greene County Sheriff's Office, Greene County District Attorney's Office, Greene County Coroner's Office and Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit assisted in the investigation.
