Weekend Weather for Mid-Hudson Valley

Well. You deserve this forecast. After back-to-back weekends that flirted with the s-word (snow) and numerous recent freeze watches, just reading it will put you in a sunny disposition.

"A very exciting few days of weather lie ahead of us, Hudson Valley," says Bill Potter from Hudson Valley Weather. "That’s because we’re going to get a large high pressure to camp out over the Northeast. That high pressure will protect us from a storm out over the ocean, and keep it to our south. That high pressure will also keep the clouds banished from the Hudson Valley for the most part. And that high pressure… will also help our temperatures to steadily climb each day… until we’re in the 70s by Sunday."

Temperatures this weekend should surpass the chilly highs from last weekend by 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit, said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.

Here’s a detailed look at the weekend forecast for western Dutchess County via the National Weather Service:

• Today-Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. North winds around 5 mph.
• Tonight-Clear. Lows in the mid 30s. North winds around 5 mph.
• Saturday-Sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Saturday Night-Clear. Lows in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph in the evening...becoming light and variable.
• Sunday-Sunny. Warmer with highs in the mid 70s. North winds around 5 mph.
• Sunday Night-Mostly clear. Not as cool with lows in the mid 40s.
